Read the Washinton Post Article here to check out the full story! So over the summer, more so at the beginning, the Washington Post called my office and asked me if it would be ok to do a story on Destination DC Tours. I was thinking…. oh wow…sweet. We had one interview at the beginning of the summer, and then another interview on the mall…. and boom its out now. I am hoping my parents are proud. YAY
I must say that during the interview... Read More

5. Rock Creek Trail— 20 miles I’d say—this one is especially my pic on the weekends because the DC area becomes closed off to cars, and its just you and the road baby! I like to start this one off in Maryland and end in DC. It is more of an uphill slant I’d say… and you pass the Zoo (check out the pandas) and the ZOO LIGHYS in the winter!

Tonight, when I was coming back from birthday celebrations, my birthday bird’s eye view perspective stumbled across the word “History” for Yelp. As the “Business Owner” I had to “Claim my Business” and fill out my “HISTORY” for Discover DC TOURS.
History? Well this is not some old lemonade stand company that turned into Mac Donalds in 1892…so I can’t top that. At first, I didn’t... Read More

Top 5 Places I Rarely Go To But I Wish I Did More Often.
We all have this list., we all have places we like to visit in our hometowns but rarely do. Here are mine.
5. Madame Tussauds’ Wax Museum
I think there’s a certain creepy charm to Wax Museums, and Madame Tuddauds Wax Museum is no different. You might recognize the name from the red double-decker busses that have become ubiquitous on the National Mall area, with a lifeless wax Barack Obama... Read More

Washington Monument still stands tall behind a fellow pedicaber
The Washington Monument After our Earth Quake August 23, 2011
Today, during the earthquake, a couple who I spoke with were at the top of the Washington Monument! “We thought we were under attack! Thank the lord we weren’t in the elevator! We were advised to walk down the 896 stairs and boy did that take a long time!”
Today at 1:51, the earthquake caused some of the caulking in the... Read More

THE FOUR GRANDMOTHERS FROM MONTANA
Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the “Four Grandmothers from Montana”.
The first thing they said when I picked them up from the new Martin Luther King Memorial was, “Guess what we did yesterday?” Knowing that the MLK Memorial had opened only a few days before, I my most educated guess was “You went to the Martin Luther King Memorial!!!”
With a smiling, excited faces, four fine... Read More

I grew up thinking I was Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Personally, when I travel, I want to know where I can swim, when is it open, how many meters it is, can I do normal human being laps or is it a pool for babies, how much does it cost, and most importantly, —-Can I sneak in for free. The answers to all these questions are below (except the last one—for that for me to know… and you to find out—another day in another blog)
